Amit Govin has extensive experience in asset valuations and identifying unique hospitality markets for investment. At EHP, Amit is responsible for identifying acquisitions, investment analysis, and financing. In addition, he is responsible for the investment goals and institutional activities for Everwood and oversees the market research and creates the proforma modeling for each project.

Before founding EHP, Amit worked at UBS Investment Bank in New York City, advising institutional clients on IPO and secondary market transactions. After leaving UBS, Amit helped build his small $3 million family business into an enterprise that has owned and managed over $210 million in hotel assets.

Amit graduated cum laude with a dual major in economics and finance from Tulane University, and earned an MBA from Columbia Business School with a concentration in real estate and finance.

Amit Patel has expertise in all aspects of hotel operations, development, and asset management. At EHP, Amit focuses on identifying acquisitions, property development/redevelopment, and asset management. In addition, he maintains the franchise relations and financing opportunities for the portfolio. Amit also oversees new development and pre-construction processes for Everwood Hospitality Partners.

Amit co-founded AGS Private Equity and since 2012, he has focused on debt and equity placement within the hospitality industry. Amit has personally been involved in over $200 million of transactions, which include hotel assets within the Marriott, Hilton, La Quinta, Choice, and Wyndham franchises.

Amit received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from Indiana University, with a focus in finance and real estate. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor cooking, watching his favorite sports teams, and traveling with his family.

Sanjay Rama has a wide array of expertise in all aspects of hospitality, including full service operations and development. He oversees the acquisition and development underwriting, manages the legal contracts, and helps identify the company’s vision and long-term goals. Prior to formally joining EHP as partner, he was a long-standing board advisor and investor with EHP.

Sanjay is also the co-founder of Sarona Holdings, which represents a group of companies founded by the Rama brothers. Prior to Sarona, Sanjay spent six years at JHM Hotels, his family’s company that owned and operated over 40 national hotels. At JHM, he underwrote hotel acquisition opportunities, disposed of non-strategic assets, and restructured over 50% of the portfolio. Sanjay began his career as an associate in the transaction real estate division of Ernst & Young’s Manhattan office, where he performed feasibility studies, prepared annual real estate fund reports, and assessed bankruptcy risk for clients.

Sanjay holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Babson College, where he majored in accounting and minored in entrepreneurship and statistics. He is also a CPA (inactive) licensed in the state of Virginia and the recipient of the Alison Carol Award for Global Leadership.

Alan Smith

Director, Asset Management

Alan Smith began his carrier in hospitality by working night audit while attending college. He worked his way up at the operational level at various branded hotel chains including Hilton and IHG earning numerous awards for excellence. Alan’s team works with property level managers on a daily basis to achieve performance benchmarks set for each property. He has an extensive track record of bringing distressed hotels to award winning operational status. Alan completed his education at Mississippi State University in business management. He also holds a CHA and revenue management certifications.

Amy Moses

Area Director

Amy Moses comes to Everwood Hospitality with over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry leveraging her expertise in operations, sales, and marketing. Amy works with property level sales teams to help them reach their revenue goals. She also coordinates training and identifies new business opportunities at corporate. Amy’s role is also to maximize overall profitability of our hotels by providing operational guidance, human resource support, and directing intra hotel interaction among our GMs and property associates.
